I have over 25 years of teaching experience if you combined all of my years from preschool through college that I have taught. Many years ago I began using the Daily 5 and am a firm believer in the "the Sisters " method of literacy instruction. Hat Day!

This week our story was about a hat. To make a connection to our story, today in class each child had the opportunity to design their very own hat. There were many craft supplies available; streamers, colorful duct tape, yarn, stickers, pipe cleaners, hole punchers, and wiggly scissors! The children had so much fun creating their unique hat! The best part was  the community and sharing that took place. They  helped one another with ideas and many  found it took more than their own two hands to get their hats completed!
